DB8 Motion Soaker
Motion soaking for retrofit projects — flexible brackets, plug-in wiring and a lower entry cost, with the same 60 %+ water saving.

The DB8 is the value route into motion-controlled soaking. It clamps onto the existing supply pipe, wires in through quick connectors, and wets only the position a cow is standing at — so a retrofit needs neither a new valve rail nor a rewired cabinet.
- 60 %+ less water than timed soaking — water flows only at occupied positions
- Flexible bracket and SS316 clamps suit different pipe sizes and materials
- Plug-and-play quick connectors remove field control wiring
- Runs standalone, or on the platform through a DB7 or Mini-C Plus
- 60 %+Less water than timed soaking
- 1.5–2.1 mStandard spacing options
- 1.7–1.9 mTypical mounting height on the feedline
- SS316Clamps, valve and nozzle
Why the DB8 is specified
Four reasons it wins the retrofit projects where cost and pipe access come first.
60 % less water
Only the position under a standing cow receives water, so the alley is cooled without running the whole line on a timer.
Flexible retrofit
A stainless or galvanised main bracket with SS316 clamps adapts to the pipe already in the barn.
Fast commissioning
Plug-in connections eliminate field control wiring, which is where retrofit projects usually lose their budget.
Serviceable module
The control module lifts out for maintenance or replacement without disturbing the supply pipe.
How it works
Detect, soak, stop — repeated position by position along the rail.
- 01 Detect Motion sensing identifies that a position at the feed rail is occupied.
- 02 Soak Only the detected cow position receives water.
- 03 Stop Water stops when the cow leaves the position.
Installation and service
Spacing, wiring and the online option.
- Spacing options Set the units at 1.5, 1.8 or 2.1 m (5, 6 or 7 ft) along the feedline.
- Plug-in wiring Quick connectors remove field control wiring from the project.
- Online option A DB7 or Mini-C Plus connects DB8 to the BARNEYE platform.

Normally specified with
The DB8 still needs one controller behind it — a DB7 switches and powers the whole run, however many units are on the rail.
